Why we are updating?
Good question! We are enhancing our card processing system to enable us to offer many new features and rewards to ensure that our members have the best possible experience when using Y-12 FCU as their primary financial institution.
What can you expect?
We have been working on this conversion process for months behind-the-scenes. Now we are approaching several key dates and timelines. Soon you’ll be receiving multiple communications in the mail as well as via email to help you understand what changes are coming. You will also be receiving new credit cards in the mail in a few weeks. On February 24, 2020, we will be making the official switch from our current processor to our new processor.
What are the benefits?
Great question! Here are just a few of the benefits that come with that card:
Will you be getting a new card number?
- Contactless payments - simply tap and go anywhere you see the Contactless Symbol at checkout. In addition to being super-fast and convenient, contactless cards are safe and highly secure. Contactless cards use the same dynamic security as chip cards. Each transaction is accompanied by a one-time code that securely protects your payment information.
- Real-time payments – credit card payments made in a branch or using our online or mobile banking will be posted to your account immediately.
- Online and Mobile Banking – your Visa account will be visible in your account summary, just like any other Y-12 FCU account. You can view all transaction history right there in your account, without using a separate link.
- Loyalty Rewards – earn a point for every $1 spent with our new and improved rewards platform
Yes, all card holders will receive a new card featuring our new designs and a new card number. Joint card holders will have a unique number, different from the primary card holder.
Does this mean you have to update all your automatic payments?
Relax – we’ve got you covered! Our Visa Account Updater will automatically update your card information with participating merchants and service providers that you use for regular or recurring payments. This means you can have uninterrupted service without all the hassle of updating your information manually on multiple sites. Most larger merchants participate in this service. If you’re unsure about a smaller merchant, you can contact them directly or check your account info on their site at least five days after receiving your new card. Click here
for more details on this service.
What do you need to do now?
Not much really. Just be ready and take a look at our communications over the next few weeks. Please review the mailing address we have on file for you to assure delivery of your new card (you can view it on your paper statement or e-statement). You should expect to receive your new card the week of February 11th. Please activate your card and be ready to begin using it on February 24th!
